I cannot stress this enough - If you are applying for a commission spot - PLEASE read all of this! By submitting an application you are agreeing to these terms.
Unlike in the past, I will no longer be taking commission first come, first serve.
I will be accepting commissions based on pieces that I am inspired by through an application process. I will have a window of time for you to submit information on your model(s), and then I will choose which ones I am most inspired to work on based on the information in the applications.
Commission spots will be for PAINTWORK ONLY. I do not enjoy sculpting, therefore will not be taking anything that requires it. The ONLY resculpting I will do is for gender changes on portrait models.
I will be open for commission applications for a few weeks at a time. The application form will be below, OR you can email the information to me at [email protected].
Each person can submit UP TO 5 horses for consideration.
Incomplete applications will NOT be accepted/considered.
There is no set number of commissions I will be taking - how many I take just depends on what is submitted. For example, I can take on more smaller horses than I can bigger ones - and more solid colors than I can loud pintos and appaloosas. Purely just due to the time those projects take.
There is NO set time frame on when these horses will be completed. My goal is that all the commissions I take will be back to their owners within a year. It could be a month and your horse is ready to go back, or it could take many months. It just depends on your horse’s plans, size, and how much time I have to work on them. But trust me, I don’t want to hold onto your horses any longer than I have to! I want you to have your horses back too! Getting horses back to someone has never been an issue.
I’ve been painting & selling models for over a decade and have plenty of green lights on the model horse transaction board, and plenty of other references as well. If you’d like to see them, just ask!
I accept commissions of all sizes & scales from all makers - Breyer, Stone, Schleich, WIA, CollectA, 3d Print, medallions, Artist resin…. I’m just picking based on what sounds fun to create!
Basic prep work (removing logo/seams, carving ears/hooves, light sanding & Priming) is all included. As well as gender changes if needed.
If I receive a body that does not meet requirements - You will be notified & charged for the additional prep work, OR the commission will be rejected entirely. You will either need to exchange the body at your cost, or the entire commission will be cancelled.
If anything comes up in the process as an issue, the client will be notified. If an additional cost is required for any reason, the progress on that horse will not continue until the additional cost is approved. (This is a pretty rare occurrence, but I have to put it here anyway.)
Most other models are acceptable. Broken legs & ears are not a problem, I can fix that! Pieces are not required for ears, I would make those from scratch anyway, but I do need them for any other kind of break.

Due to shipping restrictions & issues, I am currently only shipping to the US/Canada. No other international shipping is currently available, I'm sorry. If you live elsewhere and have a middle man in the US you would like me to ship to, I can do that. However I will not be responsible for any issues (breaks, loss, theft, etc) once the horse has been received by another party.
I do cover repairs when the the horse breaks in shipping coming directly from me. But once it has been received safely, any later repairs needed will need to be paid.
Upon acceptance of your application, you will be given a quote and can then choose to book the spot, or pass. If you choose to pass, another entrant will be selected & you cannot get that spot back.
To book the spot, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. You can choose to pay more than that if you would like. Any payments made are non-refundable as this is a custom made item. The remainder of the payment is due within 30 days of the horse being completed. You are welcome to make payments anytime between deposit & completion if that is easier. I keep written track of all payments on commissions, just check with me to make sure I got it! :)
Deposits & payments are NON-REFUNDABLE!
Now the part everybody wants to see.....
GENERAL Pricing Range:
These are the STARTING points for various sizes/colors to give you a rough idea of where the price of your commission may be. These are just general prices - the quote from me (if your commission is accepted) is the price you will pay.
Face & Leg markings are included in all prices.
"Loud" will be about the amount of white needed. All of my whites are completely hand painted, so more white = more expensive.
Pricing is non-negotiable.

Things I would LOVE to work on:
~Stormwatch (big one, but venti is good too!) by Sarah Mink ~Abundantly Jolie by Kylee Parks ~Benicio by Sue Kern ~Alborozo (Traditional) ~Stetson by Jennifer Scott ~Anything with wild & crazy hair! |
Things I will NOT work on:
~ANY resins/models from Horns from Heaven. Too many of them have been sent out uncured, which causes many issues. They cannot be fixed and can be toxic. It is not worth the potential risk to my own health, as I already deal with having a chronic illness. And I'd hate to put all that time into a horse for you only for it to slowly fall apart from uncured areas in the prints! (Any other 3D prints are fine.) ~Any model that requires stripping of previous custom work. Factory paint is fine. But no previous custom paintwork. ~ Any Glossy models ~ Any model that requires sculpting work on my part (other than a gender change). No manes/tails/moving limbs, etc. Only Mare/Gelding/Stallion changes will be accepted. |
For some bonus help (make it even more difficult on me!!) here are some ideas on things I do & don’t like working on.
I love doing dapple bays. I feel like that one is fairly obvious!
I love doing portrait models of peoples horses - the connection behind the model is so meaningful & special! It’s nice to be an apart of it.
I love unusual colors - they present a unique challenge.
Star dapple greys are beautiful, but are a challenge to paint. It won’t stop me from doing them, but I can’t take on very many.
I don’t like doing decorators in most cases.
If you have a question on whether your body model would be acceptable - just send me a separate email or message & ask!

Commission Application Form:
Each person can submit UP TO 5 models for consideration.
Commission Applications MUST be sent to me either via email or the form below. PLEASE do not send them to me on instagram or facebook message. It helps me keep them all in the same place and make sure none of them get lost!
Artist’s Choice is also available - just put in whatever specifications you have and put artists choice for color. You CANNOT change the color once the commission is accepted, because I am choosing based on these applications. You MUST pick a color, or put in "Artists Choice" so please make sure you know what you want!
There is no advantage to getting your horse in at the beginning of the application window compared to any other time. As long as it gets in while the form is up, it will be considered.
These commission applications will be for all of my spots for the year (2023 & possibly into the beginning of 2024). If I get them done sooner than expected, I may select others from these applications later and offer spots to them at a later time.
If you are a horse person looking to have a portrait done, and aren't familiar with models - please message or email me and I will help you find a model & get all the info you need to put in the form.
Incomplete applications will NOT be accepted/considered.
Please send one form/email PER HORSE.

If you use the above form, please email me one color reference photo to [email protected]. Reference photos MUST be of real horses. I will not accept another artists work as a reference. You can refer to a color on something I painted. For portrait models, more photos are better. I’d rather have too many than not enough! The more pictures I have, the more accurate I can get, especially on spotted horses. But please don’t worry about sending a bunch of photos until your horse is selected.
You are welcome to check up on the status of your commission at any time. I typically respond to emails within 24 hours.
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram - I typically post progress photos any time a horse as been worked on. I do not work on models everyday, as I just don’t have the time with another full time job.
Once the application period is over, I will go through ALL of the applications and select horses. Once I am fully booked, I will email all remaining applicants.
If there is anything wrong with your horse at any point, please just let me know. I want you to be happy with your horse too!
Honestly, just communicate with me & pay on time and everything will be fine, I promise! I know all of it can be scary, and feel like a lot, but I have to write these policies due to bad experiences in the past.
Hopefully that’s enough information (Maybe too much?) but I want to try to make it as clear as possible. If you have any questions, please ask!
I hope you all are as excited as I am!

Some more valuable models I am willing offer multiple horses in trade.

Repairs
I do offer repairs on my customs. Please contact me if you have a piece of mine that needs repaired. Many repairs I will do for free, but I do charge if the horse has extensive damage needing repair. Cost varies by work needed.
I do ask that shipping is paid both ways by the owner of the horse. Even on repairs where I am doing the work for free.
The only exception to that is shipping damage on horses being shipped from me. I do repair those free, and pay shipping again out of my own pocket. I pack extremely well, but understand sometimes things happen. This does not cover any other shipping damage repairs. Only if I am the one who sent the horse out and it was damaged in transport.
I will be very honest if it's something I can fix or not. I have rarely had to repair anything, so my experience in that area is limited. If I am unable to fix it, I will tell you and you have full permission to have another artist repair should you choose to keep him the color is already is.
There is no set time frame on repairs - as I work on them between other projects as I have time. I do my best to get them back within a reasonable time frame - I don't like other people's horses sitting with me for months on end, and I know you want you horse back as soon as possible. However depending on what needs fixed, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to many months.

Payment Info
Paypal is my preferred method of payment, but I can discuss other payment options.
I ship to the US & Canada only at this time.
Time Payments:
Anyone who decides to do time payments for any model I am selling on any platform automatically agrees to these terms:
Time payments are considered for models over $100 total. I prefer short time payments (half down, half in 30 days or less) but for particularly expensive models I understand that sometimes that doesn't work. If you would like time payments, please let me know what your payment schedule would be - with specific dates you plan to pay by - so we can both keep track and stay on the same page.
For commissions, time payments can be made any time between the deposit at booking, and the models completion. Once the model is completed you will have 30 days to finish paying off the model, unless otherwise agreed upon.
Down payments are NON REFUNDABLE.
In the event that a payment is not met, I expect to either be contacted, or you will be given a set date that the payment MUST be paid by. I am more than willing to work with people to a certain extent if I get some kind of communication. I understand sometimes life happens.
If payment is still not met after the date set, the model will be put back up for sale, and all previous payments are forfeited (NOT REFUNDABLE).
If you keep track of your payments, and pay when you say you will, there shouldn't be any problems! :)
I typically ship the next weekday after the model is paid for (Monday-Friday).
