Classes & Workshops
Individual & small group workshops are available IN PERSON at my studio in Indianapolis, IN. Subject to availability.
Please contact me if that is something you would be interested in, and we can work out all the details.
There is a fee for these classes of $50/hr per person. But you will get individual attention and we can work on whatever customizing tricks & tools you would like to learn. The fees helps me cover some supplies and time. I will provide a few stablemates to work on, or you can choose bring a model of your own to work on. I can also provide a larger scale model for an additional cost.
Due to the limited time we work together - I do ask that any models you may bring to paint are primed & ready for paint before you come, that way we can really make the most of your booked time!
I tailor these workshops & classes to whatever part of customizing you'd like to learn & work on.
Special pricing for available if you'd like to schedule a full day or weekend. $300 for a full day (8-12 hours), $650 for a full weekend.
A $100 Non-refundable deposit is required to book for a full day or weekend.
I have been customizing models for over 10 years now, with the majority of my recent work being NAN (North American Nationals) qualified. I also made a living working full-time at Stone Horses as a painter for over 3 years, creating many popular pieces - my best known probably being my silver bay color, as well as my rainbow unicorn "Soleil" color.
I also designed "Unicorn Magic" for the Trail of Painted Ponies, and a test color on "Rose" the hackney for Copperfox Model Horses.
I do work mainly in airbrushed & hand painted acrylics for my customs. But have experience with many mediums, including colored pencil, earth pigments, & pastels.
I truly believe in sharing my knowledge with others - it helps artists of the future grow. I know that some in this hobby like to keep their secrets, but I know that even if I gave someone else the exact same materials and told them how I did it, their creation would still come out differently. Every artist has their own style & develops it more and more over time. So if I can help someone to learn something that they are struggling with, I'll do it. Because I believe in the upcoming artists!
**Please note that these are in-person classes only at this time.
**Please note that I do have a cat that lives in my studio - in case anyone may be allergic**
